About ESE / IES 2019

Engineering Services Examination abbreviated as ESE/IES Coaching is the civil services that meet the technical and managerial functions of the Government of India. Like most countries, the Government of India recruits its civil servants and officials on the basis of merit, the middle management positions in the bureaucracy are filled through competitive exams. A large number of candidates takes these exams, competing for limited posts. IES/ESE officers are selected by the union government on the recommendations made by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). A combined three-stage competitive examination (comprising five tests), called the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) is conducted by the UPSC for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services.

Recruitment on the results of this examination will be made to the Services/ Posts under the following categories: ‐

  • Category I‐Civil Engineering.
  • Category II‐Mechanical Engineering.
  • Category III‐Electrical Engineering.
  • Category IV‐Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.

The number of vacancies to be filled on the results of the examination is expected to be approximately 588 including 18 PH (LDCP‐15 & HI‐03) vacancies. The number of vacancies is liable to alteration. Reservations will be made for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and Physically Disabled Category in respect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Government of India.
